A Toast to My Husband

This goes out to my amazing husband who, with precious little prior experience, has adeptly and maturely managed our last two weeks of hospitals, doctors, medications, catheters, botched IVs, blood samples, stool samples, urine samples, crazy logistics, unrivaled exhaustion, people drama, ghastly symptoms, insurance mazes, parental gut-instinct, and endless, heartrending shrieks from his little daughter like a *champion.* You amaze me every day, Honey. We could not have a better man in our lives.

Thanks.

She knows music, man.

Little One exclaims "AMEN! AMEN!" whenever she hears excellent folk/pop/country/jazz, and instinctively rave dances to classical music. We think she's got the idea.

Clothes Pins and Timeouts

Rianna was playing with a clothespin; it pinched her pretty badly, and she burst into tears. I rushed over and sympathized, "Oh... did the clothespin bite you? That was not nice, was it?! Biting is not kind - it makes us go OUCH!"

She nodded emphatically and sternly told the clothespin "Nah-nah - Bah! Bah!" <-- (her version of "no, no" + "bad choice") then promptly put the clothespin in time-out.

Oh no.

Was despairingly sure that my heel spurs were back in full force, since I can once again hear/feel physical crackling when I stand barefoot in our kitchen.

Fortunately, it turns out I was standing (indirectly) on 42 Cheerios, which Rianna had resourcefully tucked under my kitchen rugs.
